Toronto
Events Description
Prepare to be transported. Tamar Ilana & Ventanas is a Toronto-based ensemble that blends over 20 languages and musical traditions into one electrifying performance. With roots in Flamenco, Greek, Turkish, Sephardic, and Balkan music, their shows are a whirlwind of fiery rhythms, soulful melodies, and dynamic movement.
At the heart of it all is Tamar Ilana, a powerhouse vocalist whose rich, emotive voice has been shaped by a lifetime of international performance. The band’s sound is equally captivating—flamenco guitar and dance, Middle Eastern darbuka, Greek oud, classical strings, and jazz improvisation all collide to create something truly original.
Whether it’s a love song from the Mediterranean or a Bulgarian dance tune, Ventanas invites you into a vivid, multi-sensory world of music, culture, and inspiration. This is more than a concert—it’s a journey across time and borders.
