This March Break, watch skateboarders rely on physics to carve, kickflip and ollie. Explore connections between art, science and technology. Wonder at the stars or the powers of energy—from static to solar. And join us in celebrating 50 years of scientific discovery.

PROGRAMS DURING MARCH BREAK

Challenge. Dare. Defy! The Science of Skateboarding: Catch inspirational skateboarding athletes from CJ’s SKATEPARK perform amazing tricks that seem to defy physics! Learn about the art and evolution of skateboarding, the science behind its incredible stunts and its social impact around the world.

Shows at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. @ Special Exhibition Hall, Level 6

Celebration Way: Kick off your visit with Celebration Way, an entryway experience that explores how different fields of science, from human biology to space exploration, have changed since we opened in 1969.

Inventorium 2.0: The scientific method meets the artistic process in this dynamic, collaborative space designed to spark questions and test creativity. Bring your imagination to life through a range of hands-on activities. @ Proctor & Gamble Great Hall, Level 2

The Energy Show: Discover the world’s ultimate source of power at this live, interactive show!

Shows at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. @ Imperial Oil Auditorium, Level 1

A Hair-Raising Experience: Get charged up at this classic Science Centre experience. Take a picture to capture your turn with our iconic Van de Graaff generator. Shows at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:15 p.m @ Imperial Oil Auditorium, Level 1

The Planetarium

Shows are first-come, first-served. Maximum capacity of 50. Doors close at show time. Programs can vary daily.

— Eyes on the Skies (age 0-5): Learn about the nighttime sky through singing, connect-the-stars constellations and a journey to the Moon! (For ages 5 and under.) Shows at 10:30 & 11 a.m.

— The Sky Tonight (age 5+): Discover what’s visible in the sky tonight and learn about upcoming celestial events. Shows at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., plus 6 p.m. on Saturdays

Papermaking Demo

Transform plants and scrap paper into new paper. Watch the papermaking demo then take home the instructions and make your own!

Demonstrations at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., plus 5 p.m. on Saturdays @ Rock Paper Science Hall, Level 6

Science Hotspot: Plug into live presentations about current science. @ Hot Zone, Level 6

Great Bear Rainforest IMAX® Film

Nestled in an ancient rainforest on Canada’s rugged Pacific coast and hidden from the outside world, the Great Bear Rainforest is home to the fabled all-white Spirit Bear and the region’s First Nations people who have provided stewardship of the forest for centuries. @ OMNIMAX® Theatre, Level 2
