Events Description
From National Indigenous Peoples Day through Canada Day, The Forks invites you to celebrate connection, culture, and community through 11 days of programming with the return of Many Nations, One Heartbeat ᐊᐧᐦᑯᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ Wáhkóhtowin.
The Forks is filling your days with free daily programming from June 21 through July 1, celebrating the many cultures, communities, and stories that make Manitoba home. Presented in partnership with the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba (TRCM), this year’s events have been curated by the creative team at Kíwétinohk Consulting Firm and are designed for all ages to enjoy.
“ᐊᐧᐦᑯᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ Wáhkóhtowin reminds us that we are all in relationship, with the land, with one another, and with the generations before and after us,” said Victoria Perrie, CEO, Kíwétinohk Consulting. “It has been a gift to watch this work take shape and to see a second year unfold that continues to honour the teachings behind the name.”
“Every part of this program was built with care and conversation, leaving space for stories to be told, for hands to create, for feet to move, and for people to simply be together,” said Tess Ray Houston, Creative Director, Kíwétinohk Consulting.
Whether you’re looking for live music, cultural experiences, family activities, demonstrations, tours, shopping, or opportunities to learn something new, there’s something happening every day.
