Welcome to The Leaf’s newest display, Birdsong & Boughs: A Holiday Migration, an experience celebrating the festive season and the rhythms of the natural world. This display blends the vibrant beauty of holiday boughs with the soothing sounds of birds, inviting visitors to experience the season through nature’s migrations. Playful elements, like bird species displays with contrasting plants, colorful birdhouses, a swan mosaic, and oversized eggs, create a whimsical yet meaningful atmosphere highlighting conservation and sustainability.
The experience begins as you enter the Hartley and Heather Richardson Tropical Biome, which symbolizes a natural forest where birds migrate during the winter. Your journey continues through the biomes to the Babs Asper Display House, where there will be areas dedicated to specific bird species, including cardinals, hummingbirds, peacocks and more. Birdsong & Boughs: A Holiday Migration draws a parallel between holiday travelers returning home and migrating birds seeking warmth and refuge. Through its bird-friendly plants and imaginative miniature habitats, the display encourages visitors to celebrate the season in harmony with nature and to take small, conscious actions that protect the environment year-round.
