The WSO season opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, featuring its iconic “dun dun dun duuuuun” motif, paired with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, both known for powerful openings and emotional arcs. The program also includes Kelly-Marie Murphy’s Dark Nights, Bright Stars, Vast Universe, a Canadian work inspired by the night sky.
