Fall lovers, rejoice! The weather is changing quickly, which means plenty of fun fall activities are ready to enjoy. One of the favourite activities of fall is definitely apple picking, a fun way to connect with local farms and go home with tons of produce to do with what you wish!

Orchards to Go Apple Picking in Ottawa

Below are some of the best spots for apple picking in Ottawa.

Apple picking starts in Late August/early September and lasts until mid to late October.

**Always call ahead before you travel for best picking times and availability**

 

Pinewood Orchards

Pinewood Orchards is a mature apple orchard uniquely situated only 10 minutes west of downtown Ottawa. The orchard produces some of the freshest, tastiest apples in the Ottawa region as well as offering a selection of fresh fruits & vegetables throughout the season, featuring produce from other Ottawa-area farms. Details

Opens: Saturday, September 5th, 2026

Saturdays and Sundays | 9am to 5pm

Cannamore Orchard

Savour the good times at Cannamore Orchards. With acres of apples to pick from, you will enjoy their crisp and fresh flavour. Cannamore Orchards located about 50 minutes from downtown Ottawa, also offers a farm shop for other products, and there are tons of other family fun activities to enjoy, including the famous Acres of Terror Halloween Haunts.

Apple Stock Orchard

Focusing on Macintosh Apples, Apple Stock Orchard has been around since the 1990s, so they know what they’re doing! A family-run and operated business, Apple Stock Orchard is keen to welcome the public for apple picking. Apple Stock is 45 minutes from Ottawa. Details

Avonmore Berry Farm

 

You may have heard of Avonmore for its juicy strawberries, which is true, but don’t forget about its abundant and delicious apple season. They pride themselves on being a great family fun destination with plenty of activities to impress your group’s littlest members. Details

Farm Dagenais

Farm Dagenais focuses on delicious, organic produce in the Ottawa Valley. Their special farm is home to many apples, including donkeys, ducks, and hens! Their famous pick-your-own-apple season runs between August and October. You can also pick organic pears, yum! Details

Verger Croque-Pomme – Thurso

Providing bags or boxes for your pick-your-own experience on arrival, Verger Croque–Pomme–Thurso is located 40 minutes from Ottawa in southern Quebec. With over 40 acres to explore, you won’t be disappointed with a visit. Details

Mountain Orchards

Spend a day in the country with apple picking, wagon rides, a corn maze, forest trails, playground fun and shaded picnic areas, all included free. Explore the orchard, climb, swing and play before wandering through the peaceful forest. This year’s corn maze honours CNIB, with donations supporting its life-changing programs, including guide dogs for people with sight loss across Canada.Details

Domaine Cleroux

Domain Cleroux is a great spot and is within only 45 minutes of downtown Ottawa. With an impressive 800 trees, they produce the likes of Empire, Cortland, Honeycrisps, and more. You can pick your own as you enjoy the fruits of mother nature and finish your trip with a look at the Sugar Shack, where you can experience fresh maple products – a very Canadian experience. Pine Hill Orchards offers an unbelievable 20 varieties of apples to pick! This family-run and operated orchard site is a beautiful spot that even makes its own delicious apple cider to enjoy! It’s about a 45-minute drive from Ottawa. Details

The orchard fields of MacLaren’s features more than 3,500 trees that have been flourishing for over a decade. Just an hour outside Ottawa, they offer apples in the likes of Paula red, red crab, wealthy, McIntosh and more! Details

Run by the McGregor Family, McGregor Orchard has grown apples since 2016, when the family planted mid-dwarf apple trees. The apples have been growing with great success, offering ruby McIntosh, Honey crisp, Lobo and many more to enjoy. The Orchard is just under one hour from Ottawa. Details
