Go Cross-Country Skiing
Steinbach has a couple of great and well-groomed cross-country ski trails. Explore the Fly-In Golf Course on your skis and enjoy some winter exercise. It’s a great way to get moving, even during the coldest months of the year.

Visit Birds Hill
This provincial park is the perfect place to spend some time getting back to nature. Hit one of the several hiking trails with your skis or snowshoes, or just your warmest boots. Be cautious of wildlife in the area.

Toboggan at L.A. Barkman Kinsmen Park
Tobogganing is a fun winter activity, whether you’re doing it by yourself or with a friend! The hill at L.A. Barkman Kinsmen Park is the perfect place to go. Abe Hill is a local favourite, and once you start sledging down it won’t be hard to see why.
Visit Moose Lake Provincial Park
If you feel like getting back to nature, then heading to Moose Lake Provincial Park is a great thing to try. Even in the winter, you’ll still enjoy the beauty of this park. Snowshoe along the trails and check out the white pines that call the park home.

Go Skating at the Jake Epp Public Library
Right next to the Jake Epp Public Library, you’ll find a delightful outdoor rink. Practice your moves on the ice either alone or with a friend. It’s a great way to get some exercise and spend a few hours.

Explore Whiteshell Provincial Park
Close to the Ontario border, Whiteshell Provincial Park is known for its beauty. Hike around the trails and admire the scenery. Pack your binoculars and camera—you won’t want to miss any opportunities to see wildlife in the area.

Visit the Senkiw Bridge
About a 40-minute drive away from Steinbach, you’ll find a delightful trail leading to the swinging bridge over the Red River. The trail itself is part of Trans Canada Trail, and the swinging bridge is a local attraction. Even in winter, the Senkiw Bridge and its view from above the water are beautiful!
Go Tobogganing at A.D. Penner Park
You just can’t go wrong with some tobogganing! A.D. Penner Park has a great hill where you can spend a few hours sledding. Remember to dress warm!
Visit the Mennonite Heritage Village
If you’d like to learn a little more about Steinbach’s history, the Mennonite Heritage Village is the place to do that. Walk the grounds of the village, learning about the Mennonite settlers who came here. You’ll have a great time exploring and learning.

Pack your hiking boots or snowshoes and hit the trails at this lovely little park! Even in winter, you’ll have a great time exploring. Travel along the shoreline and admire the views of the lake on which this park sits.

Visit Winnipeg Beach
Beaches aren’t just for summer! Visit this lovely community and check out the winter shorelines before the snow melts. The sand blanketed in white snow makes the area incredibly scenic!
