Places to Go For A Winter Walk in Winnipeg
Check Out Assiniboine Park
Assiniboine Park is a popular destination in Winnipeg. Formerly known as City Park, this park offers several winter activities. Spend an afternoon skating on the Riley Family Duck Pond, or going tobogganing down the aptly named Toboggan Hill.

Winter Fun at Oak Hammock Marsh
If you’re looking to get away from the city for a while, spend some time hiking around Oak Hammock Marsh. During the winter, they also offer “Astronomy Days,” where you’ll get to learn more about the winter constellations.

See the Warming Huts
Once winter hits and the Red River freezes over, spend some time skating along it and checking out the warming huts. This is an annual art installation where artists design and construct different warming huts along the river where you can stop and rest for a few minutes to rest. Get Lost in the Snow Maze
A Maze in Corn is more than just a corn maze. There is also a petting zoo, hay and pony rides, a pumpkin barn, and zip lines. In the winter, this maze transforms into the world’s largest snow maze, which you can check out and explore between January and March.

Have Fun at Festival du Voyageur
Check out this local festival that runs during February. Outdoor Adventures at FortWhyte Alive

Eat at RAW:Almond
Operating from January to February, enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience at RAW:Almond. This is an annual pop-up restaurant, where you’ll enjoy a delicious meal in a tent on the Assiniboine River. Stony Mountain Ski Area

Toboggan at Westview Park
Westview Park, affectionately known by Winnipeg locals as “Garbage Hill,” is a former landfill site. Here, you’ll be able to spend a few hours skiing or tobogganing down the hill.
