Events Description
Create your own shaker box.
Discover the beauty and functionality of shaker boxes and uncover their history as you learn to bevel, tack, and peg your very own box from start to finish with power and hand tools in this two-part workshop.
This program is for people of all skill levels, with an experienced instructor available to assist along the way. In the end, you’ll leave with a cherished piece of functional art. A small ’tack’ hammer is useful if you have one.
Instructor, Neil Sanders, is a longtime FortWhyte volunteer, retired teacher, and cycling enthusiast. For the past decade, he has enjoyed learning about and experiencing the joy of hand-crafting Shaker-style wood boxes.
