Events Description
The biggest space party in Manitoba is back!
Yuri’s Night is a worldwide celebration of the first human space flight, achieved by Soviet Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961. Join us at the Manitoba Museum Planetarium on Friday, April 10 for a dance party under the stars as we celebrate the anniversary of that first step into the cosmos!
Long-time Yuri’s Night collaborators The Shake (Lotek & Manalogue) will be leading a lineup of DJs and visual artists for an out-of-this-world planetarium dance party. We’ll also feature a brand-new special program by longtime Planetarium staff member Raymond Saltel; “Music of the Cosmos” takes you through space accompanied by a variety of musical genres.
And of course, the Yuri’s Night Costume Contest will be returning! Dress as your favorite science or sci-fi character, wear the solar system on your sleeve, or come up with a space-related costume to win prizes and glory. As is tradition, the grand prize is a real meteorite from space!
Don’t miss your chance to dance under the dome and celebrate humankind’s exploration of the stars at the Manitoba Museum’s Yuri’s Night Space Party.
