The World’s Longest-Running Snowmobile Race Takes Place This Weekend in Manitoba

Canadian Power Toboggan Championships, the longest-running snowmobile race in the World, is celebrating its 60th Anniversary on March 5th and 6th in Beausejour. The CPTC’s annual Championship event attracts racers and spectators from all over North America.

The race is an adrenaline lover’s dream with speeds reaching in excess of 160 km/h on the world-class half-mile ice oval track. The Sunday’s Pro Champ 440 final will decide the 60th Canadian Champion of Ice Oval racing. Another popular event of the Championship is the vintage snowmobile racing where you can see snowmobiles from as far back as the 60s. In the Kids ice oval races, Kids from ages 4 to 14 compete to be the fastest kid on ice.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary, the Whiskey Throttle Motorsports will be putting on freestyle shows on both Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6.

Heated concessions bar, beer gardens and washrooms will be available on site. Hot laps start at 9:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with racing from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the gates. For an additional $25 trackside parking, you can watch the races from the comfort of your vehicle.
