Explore the hidden world of wetlands with hands-on activities that will let participants investigate wildlife, monitor species, and uncover the science behind conservation.
- Use real field tools to sample water and catch aquatic invertebrates, and participate in wildlife surveys to identify species
- Watch a bird banding demonstration and learn how biologists record migration and behaviour (May 16, 10 am to 1 pm only)
- Explore marsh plants and discover what they reveal about wetland health
- Get behind-the-scenes insight into how conservation science protects Manitoba’s wildlife
- Rent a bicycle or a canoe to round up your day
This event is perfect for families, curious nature lovers of all ages and anyone who’s ever wondered what it’s like to be a scientist working outdoors.
