Toronto’s Salmon Run Festival is Back for 2021, Spot Salmon and Enter to Win a Prize

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is bringing back the Salmon Festival for 2021 starting September 29th.

This year, TRCA has launched public participation program through which GTA residents can upload a photo or mention the place they saw salmon online for a chance to win a prize. This initiative is part of TRCA’s effort to improve local fish habitat and better support native fish species like Atlantic and Pacific Salmon.

Those who report their observations and provide contact information will be entered to win one of 10 TRCA Parks Passes (like Black Creek Pioneer Village, Petticoat Creek, Albion Hills Conservation etc).

TRCA has not yet announced dates for events like the Highland Creek Salmon Festival.

You can explore creeks and rivers that flow into Lake Ontario in GTA until October 29th to participate in the festival. You can also check places to Salmon Run in and Around Greater Toronto Area article or TRCA salmon festival website to see locations of local streams and rivers where you can spot salmon.

You can also share your Salmon sightings on social media by using the hashtag #SeeSalmonRun21.
