Check Out the Selkirk Waterfront

Located on the shores of the Red River, the Selkirk Waterfront is the perfect place to go for an afternoon walk any time of year. During the summer months, you’ll also find a variety of events held here. Be sure to keep an eye out for anything upcoming that you’ll want to check out.

Visit Lower Fort Garry

Just a ten-minute drive outside of Selkirk, you’ll find this national historic site and museum. Lower Fort Garry is a great place to spend some time learning about the area’s settler history. It’s the perfect day trip in the summer months!

Check Out the Selkirk Port D.O.G. Days

This summertime marketplace is the perfect opportunity to check out some locally made goods. Spend an hour or two taking a look at everything this market has to offer. Don’t be surprised if you walk away with more goodies than you intended to!

Visit Urban Prairie

Urban Prairie is a park that was first established in 2014. Located behind the Gaynor Family Regional Library, this park is a recreated tallgrass prairie wildlife park. You’ll love walking through the grounds and seeing all the beautiful wildflowers.

Learn About the Selkirk Lift Bridge

Built during the Depression era, the Selkirk Lift Bridge is one of Selkirk’s historical monuments. Pay a visit to the bridge yourself and check out the interesting architecture. Remember to pack your camera so you can capture the bridge’s interesting looks.

About 20 minutes outside of Selkirk, you’ll find Birds Hill Park. This beautiful park is the perfect place to spend the day hiking and checking out local wildlife. Pack your swimsuit and head to the park’s beach to cool off after a long hike in the summer.
