There is something special about Prince Edward Island that attract thousands of visitors every year. PEI has endless opportunities, great food, amazing scenery, and a unique culture. 1. Daily Acadian Music on the Terrace
Every week from Monday to Friday, 1:30pm & 3pm, there is live music on the terrace at the Village Musical Acadien that locals and visitors alike will enjoy. 2. Ceilidh in The City
On Wednesday evenings, you can enjoy a musical showcase with stories as some of the best Island musicians and storytellers take the stage. You can experience a Ceilidh without having to leave Charlottetown at one of the weekly Ceilidh in the City. – Starts June 26, 2019
3. Highland Storm
Enjoy an evening of Celtic music and dance that is bound to captivate you with a stunning display of Highland and step dancers accompanied by pipes and drums. In this authentic experience you will experience Celtic and Island culture through Scottish and Gaelic tunes. Directed by Peter Gallant – July 21 to August 16, 2019
4. Anne & Gilbert The Musical
Take the whole family to see the most successful award-winning comedy and drama this year. Anne & Gilbert is an unforgettable show about enduring love, hope and friendship that you definitely should see during your visit to PEI. – Until October 20, 2019
5. Crimes of the Heart
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, Crimes of the Heart brings you into the Mississippi household of the Magrath sisters. This warm-hearted, irreverent, zany and brilliantly imaginative story examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions. July 5 to August 30, 2019
6. Looms, Lambs and Lobster
Offered every Wednesday and Friday is a culinary and knitting journey together with a bit of history. You will stop at various selected places where you can learn to knit the perfect hat o scarf, get to know local farming history and farming techniques, sample sheep’s milk cheese and yogurt, and finally end your trip with a lobster roll or lobster salad – Until September 27th, 2019.
7. 55th Annual Tyne Valley Oyster Festival
The 55th Annual Tyne Valley Oyster Festival is a five day event celebrating all things oysters. Try your hand at oyster shucking, and watch the pros during the Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship. There is also going to be live music, oyster suppers, and other family events. – July 31 – August 4, 2019
8. Government House (Fanningbank) Tours
Take the family to visit the building where Canada’s Founders met in 1864. Daily free tours of the Government House are offered every half hour on Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3pm. – July 2 to August 31, 2019
9. Confederation Players Walking Tours & Historical Reenactment
Canadian history comes alive when you take a Confederation Players Walking Tours & Historical Reenactment. A troupe of young, costumed Canadians play the part of the Fathers and Ladies of Confederation and will explain the cultural and historical importance of the Charlottetown Conference. – June 29 – August 18, 2019
10. Boeing Boeing
Boeing Boeing by Mac Camoletti is a non-stop ride that will take you up, up and away! Boeing Beoeing is a farcical comedy of an architect juggling three flight attendant fiancées – an American, an Italian and a German. – June 25 to August 31, 2019
11. Island Fringe Festival
Find unique shows and performances at the unconventional venues around downtown Charlottetown. Make sure to pick up a Fringe Pin, so you can get into all the shows during the Island Fringe Festival. The 2019 line up features 10 shows from PEI, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Portland, USA and New York, USA. – August 1 to 4, 2019
12. Haunted Georgetown

13. PEI Truck and Tractor Pull Championship
Bring the family to watch both stock and modified trucks and tractors pull objects as far as they can. The PEI Truck and Tractor Pull Championship has taken place for the past 38 years and has gotten bigger and more entertaining each year. – August 2 to 3, 2019
14. Atlantic Fiddlers Jamboree
The Atlantic Fiddler Jamboree is a weekend full of concerts, workshops and impromptu music jams around the Evangeline region. This traditional musical festival celebrates fiddling traditions from around the world. – August 2 to 4, 2019
15. Ireland Meets Scotland Celtic Music & Dance Show
The Ireland Meets Scotland Celtic Music & Dance Show is a high caliber celebration of Celtic heritage. The show tells the story of Irish and Scottish immigrants who left their home in 1800’s to Canada. The show is fun for the whole family. – July 17 to August 28, 2019
16. Kitchen Parties at Village Musical Acadien
Traditional Acadian kitchen parties are an important part of the Acadian culture, and you can experience it at the Kitchen Parties at Village Musical Acadien. 17. Rock the Boat Music Festival
As part of the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival, the Rock the Boat Music Festival is the place to for live music from major Canadian music stars. This year’s line-up includes Big Wreck, The Road Hammers, Honeymoon Suite, Haywire, Soul Filter, The Ellis Family Band, and more. – August 3, 2019
18. Jacques Cartier Sandcastle Building Competition
Bring your buckets and get ready to build your best sandcastle at the Jacques Cartier Sandcastle Building Competition. Along with building sandcastles, make sure to enjoy the water and the sunshine. – August 4, 2019
19. The Ross Family Ceilidh
Enjoy live music and step dancing at The Ross Family Ceilidh every Monday and Wednesday. A staple of the PEI roots music scene, this brother-sister group is noted for their energetic performances that will entertain you throughout the show. June 17 to October 2, 2019
20. Old Home Week – PEI’s Family Fun Fair
Celebrate Prince Edward Island’s rich agricultural industry and its unique way of life during Old Home Week at PEI’s Family Fun Fair. 21. Cloggeroo – The Island Folk Festival

22. Kensington Harvest Festival

23. Gold Cup & Saucer Parade
The Gold Cup & Saucer Parade is a ‘must see’ because it is the largest annual event in Atlantic Canada and the largest parade east of Quebec. There are over 100 floats from local businesses, organizations, and communities that take part in the parade each year. – August 16, 2019
24. 27th Annual Abegweit Pow-Wow
Spend a day with the family learning traditional dancing and drumming at the 27th Annual Abegweit Pow-Wow. There is going to be food and vendors on-site selling both traditional and modern items. – Panmure Island – August 17 to 18, 2019
25. 7th Annual Fortune Fun Days
3 days of family fun activities. The Annual Fortune Fun Days main event is the canoe and kayak poker run on the Fortune River. In addition, there will be Duck Race, games, a BBQ, a beer tent, a water slide and a bouncy house. – August 16 to 18, 2019

30. Disney’s Madagascar Jr.

32. Art in the Open
From 4pm to midnight on August 24, Charlottetown downtown’s parks and public spaces will be filled with contemporary art. Along with viewing the artwork at Art in the Open, you can also create your own artwork and connect with local artists. – August 24, 2019
33. L’Exposition Agricole Et Le Festival Acadien
Celebrate the Acadian culture and PEI’s agricultural traditions at the L’Exposition Agricole Et Le Festival Acadien. The weekend is filled with many family fun activities, which include musical events, a talent competition, exhibitions, local cuisine and much more. – August 28 to September 1, 2019
34. Le Festin Acadien Avec Homard
Take the whole family out to enjoy a delicious meal of classic Acadian dishes at the Le Festin Acadien Avec Homard. The meal includes lobster (homard), rapure and meat pie. 38. Anne of Green Gables The Musical

39. Mamma Mia!

If you are looking for fresh local produce, baked goods, handmade items, and anything else, you should visit the Downtown Farmer’s Market. The market is every Sunday from 11 am until 4pm and vendors are welcoming to everyone. – June 30 to September 29, 2019
41. Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.
Journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories, Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. – July 20 – August 19, 2019
42. Concerts in the Garden
On Wednesday evenings during July and August, the Garden of Wyatt Heritage Properties come alive with music. The Concerts in the Garden lineup includes local musicians performing a range of music. You can cool off with delicious ice cream during the breaks. – July 3 to August 28, 2019
43. Stompin’ Tom Centre – Free Live Entertainment
